Introduction to Permaculture Design
Permaculture provides a comprehensive and ethical approach to meeting basic human needs while regenerating the natural world. Often based on and informed by traditional and indigenous ecological knowledge, permaculture is described as "the cutting edge of 10,000-year-old idea." Through group exercises and hands-on activities, you will be introduced to the core concepts and various applications of permaculture and how to design sustainable systems that mimic the interconnectedness of natural relationships. You will also learn how to apply permaculture design principles to a variety of areas, such as food productions, water, energy, and micro-livestock, with an emphasis on home and small-scale systems in our bioregion.
