Our Mission
Inspired and guided by the historical wisdom of indigenous peoples, Woodbine Ecology Center utilizes education, demonstration, research, and active collaboration with indigenous and other communities to develop and promote examples of egalitarian, self-reliant, and sustainable living.
Our Goals
- Cultivate egalitarian, resilient, and sustainable communities, based on ecological balance, natural and social diversity, and built on cooperation and mutual respect.
- Foster lifelong learning and healing through inclusive and participatory community, and a renewed relationship with the natural world and the places we inhabit;
- Reclaim our common destiny through an abiding pursuit of historical truth and a commitment to enduring social reconciliation;
- Challenge ourselves, our organizations, and our communities to reallocate our energy and resources away from current socially and ecologically destructive practices and to redirect them into our own locally-rooted, globally-connected vision.
