The World of Fungi

June 3rd, 2017 10:00 AM   through   4:00 PM

This workshop will go into the world of Fungi. The program will have a talk on fungi and how important it is to our ecosystems. A short video will be shown on Fungi and be accompanied by a small talk or art activity. A hands-on component will be included where we will inoculate tree stumps in our forest at WEC with Turkey Tail mushrooms.

We will have fungi mushroom logs available for purchase that you can grow on your own.  Please bring $20 in cash or check the day of the workshop if you'd like to take one home with you.

Registration: You need to register and pay in advance for this workshop. Registration link can be found below. Registrations are accepted until Thursday, June 1st, 2017. There is limited space for this workshop so it is possible that we will reach capacity limits prior to the deadline.

Instructors/Facilitators: Tiffany Lovato

Meals: Please come prepared with your own lunch for Saturday.

Cost: In order to keep the workshop accessible to as many people as possible regardless of financial ability and access we have the following sliding scale. In the application, you will be asked to self-select the rate that you can pay and explain your selection.

Financial access isn’t just about income. Please consider other factors like family access, educational access, access to employer support, community networks, etc. Please consider your complete financial access, as you determine which fee is appropriate for you. If you have the capacity to pay above your scale, please do! That helps us offer a successful and accessible workshop. Thank you!
